Scope

CISym invites contributions on all aspects of computational imaging — from novel sensing systems and reconstruction algorithms to applications in medicine, science, and industry. We welcome both established results and early-stage work. The symposium is organized primarily around talks, with oral and poster sessions covering the full breadth of the field.

CISym is the successor to the Computational Imaging (COIMG) track at IS&T Electronic Imaging, which ran continuously from 2003 to 2026.

How to Participate

There are two ways to present at CISym:

Abstract Format

Abstracts should be 0.5–1 page (approximately 250–500 words) and Describe the work, its significance, and the presenter(s). Submit as a PDF or plain text document. No specific template is required.

Accepted abstracts will be assigned to oral sessions or a poster session based on fit and program balance. All accepted presenters must register for the conference.

Invited Sessions

An invited session is a group of 4–6 coordinated talks on a focused theme, proposed and organized by one or more session chairs. The session chair is responsible for inviting speakers, collecting their abstracts, and ensuring they register for the conference.

To propose an invited session, contact the organizing committee with a brief description of the theme and your proposed speakers. Proposals are reviewed on a rolling basis; early proposals are encouraged.

Topics of Interest

We welcome contributions on any aspect of computational imaging, including:

Inverse Problems & Reconstruction
AI/Deep Learning for Imaging
Scientific & Medical Imaging
Hyperspectral & Multispectral Imaging
Coherent & Non-coherent Optical Sensing
Sensor Hardware & Algorithm co-design
X-ray imaging & Tomography/Ptychography
Neutron & Nontraditional Imaging
Acoustic & Ultrasound Imaging
Computational Microscopy and Photography
Generative Diffusion & Bayesian Sampling
Image Restoration & Enhancement

Review Process

Open submissions are reviewed by the program committee for relevance, quality, and fit with the program. Notification is rolling from September 1, 2026 — you may hear back earlier if you submit well before the deadline.

Invited session proposals are reviewed by the organizing committee on a rolling basis from June 1, 2026. If your session is accepted, you will be asked to confirm your speakers and collect their abstracts.

Ready to participate?

Submit an abstract by December 1, 2026, or contact us to propose an invited session by August 1, 2026.
